On April 1, Nepal announced that the Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) will host the International Vice Chancellor’s Conference in Lumbini on April 2nd and 3rd.
The conference will be held at the Lumbini Buddhist University located in Lumbini. This event is being organized with assistance from the University Grants Commission and in partnership with the Global University Network.
As per the LBU, conversations and engagements centered around modern topics such as Buddhism and its philosophical aspects, scholarly principles, along with the hurdles and prospects of tertiary education today, are scheduled. Additionally, the 18th ‘Press Conference’ will take place during this event.
Prof Subarna Lal Bajracharya, the Vice-Chancellor of LBU, mentioned that the talks and deliberations at the conference will center around Buddhist philosophy within higher education settings, ethical considerations in academic leadership from a Buddhist perspective, globalizing higher education amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as exploring both the obstacles and prospects for educational advancement in Nepal.
During the conference, twenty-four presentations will cover topics such as integrating Buddhist philosophy into human resource practices, leveraging AI within labor markets, fostering regional collaboration and networking in higher education institutions, and exploring the roles these institutions play in managing human resources.
Likewise, apart from Nepal, researchers hailing from 11 different nations will also deliver presentations at the conference. The event will see participation from Chancellor-level representatives of multiple universities located in Nepal, India, and Japan.
Specialists and academics from Nepal, Cambodia, China, Germany, India, Japan, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam will take part in the conference.
