‘ s present peace agreement and has put forward new conditions.

A Russian diplomat told state media on Tuesday that Moscow desires the U.S. to consider what they believe are the underlying causes of the conflict.

“We consider the models and solutions presented by the Americans with great seriousness; however, we cannot fully embrace them in their present state,” according to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

According to his statement in the “International Affairs” magazine interview, he said, “‘Based on what we can tell, these issues do not currently accommodate our primary request, which is to address the fundamental sources of this conflict.'”

‘It is entirely missing, and this needs to be addressed,’ he reportedly stated.

and Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelensky
On Sunday, he voiced his irritation over the ongoing conflict, despite his promise to quickly end the war.

Trump insisted progress was being made in the negotiations, but said that he would consider imposing further sanctions to put pressure on Moscow.

He similarly charged Zelensky with attempting to withdraw from an agreement with the US regarding access to Ukraine’s mineral resources.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, stated on Tuesday that Ukraine had held an initial round of discussions with the United States regarding the most recent iteration of the mining agreement, as mentioned by him.

Despite Trump’s urging, Putin has essentially rejected a U.S. suggestion for an immediate and complete 30-day cease-fire.

Additionally, a partial ceasefire in the Black Sea aimed at enabling safer cargo shipments has been undermined by conditions set forth by Kremlin negotiators.

According to an analysis released Monday by the Washington-based think tank Institute for the Study of War, Russia is prolonging negotiations over the Black Sea agreement to delay progress towards a comprehensive truce and to gain further advantages from the Western powers.

Zelensky offered a direct assessment of recent events during his speech late Sunday.

‘”Moscow openly ridicules our partners’ attempts to promote a peaceful initiative,” he stated.’

Previously, Putin has dismissed the idea of pausing the conflict temporarily, stating that this respite would only favor Ukraine and its Western supporters by allowing them to restock their weapon supplies.

Trump has signalled that he could consider new oil sanctions on Russia.

However, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov suggested on Tuesday that a significant progress in talks is not likely forthcoming.

“The topics we’re addressing regarding the Ukrainian resolution are highly intricate and necessitate considerable extra effort,” Peskov stated during a conference call with journalists.

In the meantime, lethal assaults from both Russia and Ukraine persist as they prepare for intensified operations during the spring season along the approximately 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) long frontline in their ongoing war of attrition.

For the first time in over five months, Russia did not launch any Shahed drones at Ukraine overnight, as reported by officials.

However, Andrii Kovalenko, who leads the disinformation counteraction unit of Ukraine’s Security Council, noticed no shift in Russia’s approach.

‘Temporarily, this has no significance,’ he stated on Telegram.

Ukraine stated that they had intercepted and brought down two Kh-59/69 cruise missiles fired by Russia during the night to target southeast Ukraine.

Officials from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast reported drone assaults on the area during the night, stating that they resulted in only minor damages.

Ukraine demonstrated moderation in its attacks on Russia, with only three drones reportedly shot down over the Bryansk region.

The Russian Defense Ministry alleged that Ukraine was behind fresh drone assaults on energy infrastructure both in Russia’s Belgorod region and in the portion of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia area under Russian control.

Europe’s supporters of Ukraine assert their ongoing backing for Kyiv as it strives to counter Russia’s aggression. Meanwhile, Putin is receiving military assistance from both North Korea and Iran.

Similarly, China has offered diplomatic backing to Russia and extended economic assistance via energy and consumer goods trading.

During his trip to Moscow, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Tuesday that “some progress has been made” regarding Washington’s efforts to halt the conflict, noting that U.S.-Russian relations had enhanced during President Trump’s tenure.

In an interview with Russia’s official news agency, RIA Novosti, he stated that Beijing backs the objective of achieving ‘an equitable, long-lasting, binding peace accord that satisfies all participating sides.’

Wang was scheduled to meet Tuesday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Additionally, he was anticipated to have a meeting with Putin later that day, according to Peskov.
