The Ministry of National Defense plans to shortly dispatch formal invitations to the leaders of China, Laos, and Cambodia’s defense ministries to participate in an event marking the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025). The invitees will also be asked to send their military members to take part in both ceremonial military and civil parades as commemorations.
The Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, disclosed this information when meeting with defense attaches from the three nations in Hanoi on Tuesday morning.
He informed the officers that Vietnam is intensifying its preparations for this significant political occasion. The nation consistently acknowledges the backing it has received for its revolutionary efforts from global allies, notably China, Laos, and Cambodia, as Chien stated.
The Deputy Minister mentioned that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense anticipates the involvement of the three respective counterparts, thereby enhancing the overall success of the celebrations and showcasing solidarity and camaraderie between Vietnam and its three adjacent nations.
In recent times, Vietnam has stepped up defense cooperation with these three countries across various domains, including significant activities such as exchanging delegations, conducting joint military exercises, and participating in border defense friendship programs.
The defense attachés stated that they would immediately inform their respective governments and offer pertinent suggestions to support the programs specified by the deputy minister.
