[India], April 2 (ANI):
AAP
MLA and ex-environment minister of
Delhi
Gopal Rai
has defended the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in the national capital, pointing out that the recent report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (
CAG
The proposal titled ‘Prevention of Air Pollution from Vehicles,’ which was presented in the Assembly, did not contain any mentions of “corruption.”

“The
CAG
The report on air pollution, which was presented in the assembly, is currently under scrutiny.
BJP
Leaders aimed at uncovering corruption, yet no evidence of corrupt activities has been discovered as of now. The document emphasizes that the
AAP
The government was the sole entity to effectively reduce air pollution through initiatives such as the Odd-Even plan,” he stated.

He went on to say that according to the former
Delhi
The government stated that the air quality in the national capital has gotten better, with the count of good air quality days rising to 208 from a total of 365 days.

“In 2016,
Delhi
had only 109 good air quality days out of 365. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party government worked in all directions, increasing the number of good air quality days to 208 last year. I challenge the
BJP
–while we increased good AQI days from 109 to 208, you take it to 309, then we will talk to you in the House,” he said.

The
AAP
leader also praised the Odd-Even rule implemented in
Delhi
, describing it as a successful campaign.

“The Odd-Even scheme has not succeeded anywhere globally, but
Delhi
It is the sole city where this initiative proved successful. Besides implementing the Odd-Even scheme, we also launched the ‘Red Light On, Engine Off’ program to decrease vehicular emissions.

It is the premier state within the nation where 2,000 electric buses have been deployed on the streets.
BJP
Leaders assert that these buses were introduced due to the actions of the Central government—if this is true, then why have comparable electric buses not been deployed in states with dual-engine systems such as Haryana and Uttar Pradesh? As recently as today, Anand Vihar remains without them.

“is inundated with smoke because of diesel buses arriving from adjacent states,” he stated.

Rai highlighted the achievements of the preceding team.

administration addressing ecological concerns.

“When our government was established in
Delhi
, the green belt covered 20 percent of the city; we increased it to 23 percent. In our last tenure, we set a target of planting 2 crore saplings, which we accomplished in just four years. We also converted 100 percent of the industries using polluted fuels in
Delhi
to PNG. By providing 24-hour electricity, we eliminated the need for generators, reducing smoke emissions,” he said.

He also stated that the same amount was allocated to combating air pollution as during the previous government.

Regarding the smog tower, two pilot projects were implemented.

“Installed one at Connaught Place. Both governments invested an equal sum in this initiative and possess the findings from this pilot project,” he stated.
